Sustainable management of forest resources 

The southern region of Brazil has a great forestry vocation, being characterized by important remnants of the mixed ombrophilous forest and by important forest-based companies. The forest sector in this region is characterized by the use, production and market of timber and non-timber forest products, conservation and preservation of natural resources.

In this sense, the PPGF has its curricular structure focused on the concentration area of “Sustainable Management of Forest Resources”, which provides for studies and the development of research in natural and planted forests, seeking preservation, conservation and management of these forest types.
